The current owners/editors of the Roleystone Courier are Linda and Michael Moore. Linda was born in Roleystone into one of the pioneering families, the ‘Bettenays’, who first arrived in this area in 1901 and settled the orchard ‘Irymple’ along Stinton Creek leading into Araluen Valley. She was born and raised on this property, which is still farmed by her father and brother. Members of this family have been closely involved with the evolution of this area and continue to be valuable contributors to our local community. Following her marriage in 1980 to Mike, they moved to Roleystone in 1983, later purchasing their current home in Taree Place in 1985. Their reason for running the Roleystone Courier is to give something back to the community that has given so much to them over many years.
History Viv Keelty produced the first Roleystone Courier in August 1977. In 1984 Anne and Peter Thompson owned and ran the publication for 7 years. It then passed on to Deb and Peter Hopper in 1991. They produced it for 14 years. Linda and Mike Moore are the current owners of the Roleystone commencing with the March 2008 edition.
